No Coffee For Me Please
Paris 2010
Sometimes I don’t know if I drink sparkling water because I like it or because I love to check out the bubbles.
Lost Keys March 13 2012 San Juan PR Years ago I stole this room keys from a cheap NYC hotel I was staying in. I found them really interesting as a prop for a photo story, I even remember to had the photographs clear and layout in my mind. Yesterday those images came back to me, while looking for a vintage soft focus filter in my old film camera bag from the 90’s, I found again my precious props. Now again I can’t stop thinking about my next photos. Why it took me 10 years to find the lost keys and my future images again? Time will tell… but from now on I will be carrying my old/new props closer to me in my digital camera bag, waiting for the right light, right model and the right door.

His first reaction was asking me with his deep voice tone “are you MR. Cruz”

Ann LaPlace Camera Test
This is the first photo I took with my (now) vintage twin lens Rolliflex camera. It was 2002 when I first met and understood my affection to add drama in my photographs.
Floating Woman / Hanging Glasses
I love “blurry” photographs, i love the mystery and the story that a soft photo creates.
These photos were taken in 2003 in San German, Puerto Rico

I love to take photos inside hotel rooms, halls, doors, libraries and all those crazy misterious corners that every hotel hides from their guests.

“I am a photographer who is always searching for that special image that I can look every day and not get tired of it”
This is one of those images. Sexy and elegant.

…it is around 9am in a rainy and cold morning in NYC, and there she is…my new stranger. I remember that she was like 60 year old but with the attitude and a body language of a 25 year old woman. I did follow her for about a block or two before she hit the perfect spot for my photo. Back lighting, reflections and a clean sidewalk are the perfect combinations to present my stranger. Maybe she is late for work or simply cold, but my stranger never knew that her fast walk inspired me for the rest the day.
I was in a long ticket line at the Louvre and there she is, my parisian stranger (actually she was Japanese) Her european boyfriend was all over her, very intense. Probably he needed a “room” instead of “The Louvre” to be inspired. After studying his moves and expressions I realized that he kept his eyes close all the time while kissing her. That was my opportunity to invade their moment and photograph his girl.
(From time to time is good to open your eyes… you never know who is around)
